Greg Hansch, LMSW, Executive Director

Greg Hansch serves as the Executive Director of NAMI Texas. He joined NAMI Texas in 2012 and he has served in the roles of Public Policy Director and Policy Coordinator. In his current role, he is responsible for providing direction and leadership toward the achievement of NAMI Texas’ mission. He is a Licensed Masters-Level Social Worker and a family member of a person with serious mental illness. He received a Master’s degree in Social Work with a concentration in Nonprofit and Public Management from Rutgers University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland. Greg is a NAMI SMARTS for Advocacy State Trainer. He is an alumni of the Policy Academy of the Hogg Foundation for Mental Health at UT Austin. In his spare time, he enjoys helping people register to vote, being active outdoors, watching the Dallas Cowboys, and listening to podcasts.
Patti Haynes, Program Director

Patti Haynes has been involved with NAMI since 1999 when she began seeking help for her son when he was an adolescent. She has served on the NAMI Texas Board of Directors and the NAMI Dallas Board of Directors (now NAMI North Texas) along with several committees that support children and adolescents experiencing mental health challenges. Patti is a NAMI Basics Teacher, NAMI Basics State trainer and a NAMI Basics National Trainer. Patti has a passion for supporting NAMI Affiliates, not only when it comes to education, but also keeping them alive and strong.
Melissa Holden, Office Manager

Melissa Holden became part of the NAMI Texas team in early 2020. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in the arts and humanities from New York University. Melissa’s responsibilities include website management, providing affiliate support, and managing the NAMI Texas donor database, as well as providing mental health and community resources to individuals, families and professionals throughout Texas. Outside of the office, Melissa enjoys community art events, classic soul music, and her elderly Chihuahua.

Grace Mansfield serves as the Community and Affiliate Outreach Coordinator for NAMI Texas. Grace joined the NAMI Texas team in October of 2019. She holds a Masters degree in Professional Counseling from Texas State University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from St. Edwards University in Austin, Texas. Grace has a passion for advocating for mental health issues and supporting those who are affected by mental illness. Grace loves serving on the NAMI Texas staff, and supporting local NAMI Texas Affiliates. In her spare time, Grace loves listening to live music, spending time outside, and traveling to new places.
Matthew Lovitt, Peer Policy Fellow

Matthew Lovitt is a person in long term recovery from mental health and substance use disorders. He holds certification as a Recovery Support Peer Specialist and is pursuing a Master of Social Work from the University of Houston with a specialization in Political Social Work. He has supported individuals in recovery in inpatient, outpatient, and community settings. In his free time, Matthew enjoys reading fiction, running marathons, and watching horror movies with his wife and three Vizsla pups.
Rola Elkhatib, Communications Consultant
Rola Elkhatib serves as the Communications Consultant for NAMI Texas. She previously was the Communications Intern when joining the team in June 2020. She is a recent graduate from the University of Texas at Austin, with a major in Public Relations and minor in Business Administration. Rola is passionate about breaking the stigma of seeking therapy specifically in minority households. In her free time, she will be found either at a local coffee shop, or watching all sorts of film, television, and digital series.
Ana O’Quin, Policy Intern
Ana O’Quin serves as the Policy Intern for NAMI Texas. She is working towards her Masters of Social Work degree at the University of Texas since graduating from Baylor University with her BSW. Ana also works as a graduate assistant at Dell Medical School Department of Psychiatry working with the TCHATT program to expand mental health services to public school students. She is passionate about expanding mental health and other needed services for youth, and about advocating for policies that are compassionate and equitable. When not studying or working, Ana can be found watching the Great British Bake-Off, going on a hike with a friend, or planning a post-COVID travel trip.
